Discover this mesotidal lagoon in the Landes de Gascogne, bordered by towns such as Andernos, Arès, Lège-Cap-Ferret, Arcachon, and La Teste-de-Buch. At its center, you'll find a small, wild paradise of 3 km2, the famous "bird island" and its "Cabanes Tchanquées" (stilts in Gascon or perched cabin) built in 1883 near the imperial oyster farms to watch out for thieves.
A breathtaking coastline
From the ocean gates to the famous sandbanks of Banc d'Arguin and the discreet Banc du Toulinguet, come and explore the tip of Cap Ferret, the conche of Mimbeau and the picturesque villages of La Vigne, L'Herbe, Le Canon, Piraillan, Piquey, Les Jacquets and Le Four.
